Osram Sylvania
www.sylvania.com

Osram had a few new products with them at the Expo. The AluPar looks exactly like any other par lamp. Once you pick it up, you’ll notice the difference. Osram make the reflector aluminum rather than the traditional glass, so it’s now lighter and more heat comes off the back. Which will help lengthen gel life. The only noticeable difference between the AluPar is that the field is a little more rounded. Osram is also releasing an updated version of the BTL, the BTH. The BTH will give the 500 watt sources a little extra kick. Rather than be 500W/120V like the BTL, the BTH is 575W/115W. It is significantly brighter than the BTL, but pays for the brightness with a shorter life. The last item they had was the Dot It Linear. This little fixture takes one tap to turn on the light. It is a blue light perfect for back stage situations. It’s lightweight, takes 3 AA batteries, and like its round counterpart, can be stuck to the walls or other surfaces.
